Unit plans are a great way to get an overall view of what your main focus will be over a longer period of time. Sometimes it's helpful to have these broken down to lesson plans for a more detailed look at what each lesson involves. Simply click on the links to find some of the unit and lesson plans our team came up with to help you in your teaching of HPE.
Unit & Lesson plans for years 0-2
Students will learn to throw and catch balls in a variety of situations that will develop fine motor skills: locomotive, stability and manipulative.
Students will be given opportunities that will allow them to develop:
1. Throwing and catching skills using a variety of equipment and activities.
2. Their ability to work as a team or in pairs.
Students will be provided with opportunities to develop basic motor skills by participating in a range or ‘throwing’ activities. They will also be encouraged to respect and support their peers in the individual or group activities.
Students will be provided with opportunities to develop their fundamental motor skills of throwing and catching throughout a range of activities and situations.
The aim of this unit is for students to:
1. Gain confidence in using their bodies and work together in variety of ways.
2. Develop a wide range of movement skills and be able to reflect on their experiences.
LESSON 3

Students will be provided with opportunities that will allow them to:
1. Identify potential risks that are unsafe within a game/activity context
2. Participate in games/activities and to discuss the enjoyment it
CATCHING, PASSING & TEAMWORK! UNIT
Students will develop skills and knowledge involving passing, catching and team work.
Unit & Lesson plans for years 5-6

Students will explore and develop the manipulative skills and techniques involved in kicking a ball through a variety of different context and build on attitudes that enhance interaction and relationship with other people.
1. Students will be provided with opportunities to explore and develop different catching and throwing skills for use in a range of physical activities.
2. Students will increase an awareness of supporting their classmates and learn to build an effective relationship.
